Jessica Townsend


I love the way that Jessica Townsend writes her books absolutely packed full of all of her favourite things which gives the books loads of personality and brings the characters to life. When you read her books you can really understand how the characters feel and she writes in such a way that both children and adults can enjoy all of her amazing books.

18th April 1985, Caloundra, Australia

Biography:

She wrote her first story at the age of 7 and it was published in a library newsletter. When she left high school she started writing what would become the beloved Nevermoor.

Favourite things:

Public transport, ancient cities, hotels, opera singers, Halloween, secret societies and giant cats.

Favourite childhood books:

Little women; Tomorrow, when the war began; The babysitters club; Alice's adventures in wonderland; Matilda; Charlottes web and Seven little Australians.

Recommendation:

Anyone over the age of 9 who likes fantasy books (including adults!)
