Emma Carroll

Emma Carroll is often known as the Queen of historical fiction and I agree with this completely. Her stories are full of facts and you can feel like you are there in the daring stories and worlds that she creates with paper and a pen. Her characters overcome challenges which help them create a better reality for themselves.

Books Written:

Frost hollow hall; Strange Star; Secrets of a sun king; Escape to the river sea; The girl who walked on air; When we were warriors; The week at worlds end; A night at the frost fair; The snow sister; Letters from the lighthouse.

Born:

26th March 1970

As a child she wrote stories about ponies and pop stars which is now called fan-fiction but was just weird back then. After school she was a journalist then went to university before backpacking around the world. Then she became a teacher and a writer.

Favourite Book:

Fingersmith

Fun Facts:

She is obsessed with snow. Her dogs Pip and Bertie sleep by her when she writes. She has been a vegetarian since the age of 11 years old. She loves peanut butter and marmite and cucumber on toast.
