He was born near Liverpool to a catholic family. He met Denise, got married and had 7 children. He is also a screenwriter and a occasional actor.

Fun Facts:

Some of his books have been turned into films. He moved house and primary school and went to a grammar school. He loved reading Moomin as he was growing up.
