 I love Stewart’s books because of the fact that they empower children who are different or don’t fit in. It shows that you can’t let disabilities ,whether physical or mental, stop you from doing or getting whatever you want in life. His characters learn to accept their differences and hit life running. Birth: 20th November 1963 He was born in Bath and his books have won multiple school and library awards. His first children’s book, Bubble Boy, was published in 2016 and won the Sainsbury’s Children’s Book Award. Fun Facts: He has ADHD and once threw a banana at the blackboard. His best friend’s grandpa picked him up in a pink car and he put this in one of his books.

Frank’s books are hilarious and full of funny and wacky storylines and characters with over-exaggerated traits. The characters usually have to create extremely powerful friendships to overthrow what earth ,or space, throws at them. He moved house and primary school and went to a grammar school. He loved reading Moomin as he was growing up.

 Kiran’s books are written in fantasy lands but they are real enough for the reader to feel like they are living through what the characters experienced. The books really are heartwarming because of the incredible thing that the characters work through and achieve with the help of bravery and friendship. Books Written: The girl of ink and stars; Julian and the shark; The island at the end of everything; The way past winter; The mercies; The deathless girls; A secret of birds and bone; Leila and the Blue Fox; The dance tree; Geomancer. Birth: 1990 She was born in Surrey. She started writing poetry in her final year at university and wrote three poetry books. Her book the girl of ink and stars won the Waterstones children’s book prize in 2017. Fun Facts: Her earliest ambition was to be a cat, followed by a cat owner or the first woman on mars. She lives in Oxford with her husband and a cat Luna.

 I love Amy Wilson’s books because they are so imaginative and fantastical. They are set in worlds of magic-whether magic snow globes or fae going to school with humans. The books are set in loads of different places, worlds and times, and you can’t help but love them. Books Written: A girl called owl; Owl and the lost boy; Snowglobe; Lightning falls; Shadows of winterspell; A far away magic; The lost frost girl; Angel and bavar. Birth: Unknown Amy Wilson was a journalist before becoming a writer. She graduated from Bath Spa University with an MA in creative writing. One of her books was nominated for the CILIP Carnegie medal.

Thomas’s books are full of mystery and adventures as well as the creepy crawly beasts that roam, and they are great for all ages. He has written lots of picture books and stories for younger children and some mystery books for older children with a mind for adventure.  In her books I love the fact that in her books humans and animals (many fictional) can always live together in harmony but it may take a bit of persuasion and you need to keep going and not give up. She also tries to keep her books as historically accurate but with a few dragons thrown into the wild and wacky mix.
